Italian Tuna Salad Plate with Artisanal Bread

Transform a simple lunch into a rustic Italian-inspired feast. This recipe celebrates the beauty of high-quality ingredients, presenting our Italian Tuna Salad not in a bowl, but as the centerpiece of a beautiful plate.

The tuna is mounded in a rustic line, showcasing its delightful texture and the colourful gems within, sundried tomatoes and sweet green peas. It's artfully accompanied by a vibrant swirl of savory sauce and finished with fresh, fragrant basil.

Served with crusty bread for scooping, this dish is an invitation to slow down, share, and savour every simple, delicious bite.

1 pouch of Tuna Salad Italian
A few slices of good crusty bread
Handful of fresh basil leaves
For the Sauce Swirl: 2 tbsp mayo mixed with 1 tsp tomato paste OR 2 tbsp of pesto
Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Cooking process

Prepare the Plate:
On a large flat plate or wooden board, create a long rustic mound of the Tuna Salad Italian down the centre. Do not pack it too tightly. Let it sit naturally.

Add the Sauce Swirl:
Place a generous dollop of your chosen sauce (the tomato mayo or pesto) on one side of the plate near the tuna. Using the back of a spoon, gently drag the sauce across the plate in a wide circular motion to create an artistic swirl. This adds colour and an extra burst of flavour.

Garnish & Serve:
Scatter fresh basil leaves generously over and around the tuna salad. Arrange the slices of artisanal bread alongside. Just before serving, drizzle the bread with a little extra virgin olive oil and, if desired, sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Serve immediately and encourage everyone to scoop the flavorful salad onto the oiled bread.
