Prepare the Plate:
On a large flat plate or wooden board, create a long rustic mound of the Tuna Salad Italian down the centre. Do not pack it too tightly. Let it sit naturally.
Add the Sauce Swirl:
Place a generous dollop of your chosen sauce (the tomato mayo or pesto) on one side of the plate near the tuna. Using the back of a spoon, gently drag the sauce across the plate in a wide circular motion to create an artistic swirl. This adds colour and an extra burst of flavour.
Garnish & Serve:
Scatter fresh basil leaves generously over and around the tuna salad. Arrange the slices of artisanal bread alongside. Just before serving, drizzle the bread with a little extra virgin olive oil and, if desired, sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Serve immediately and encourage everyone to scoop the flavorful salad onto the oiled bread.
